Vlychada beach is located in Andros, 12.5 km from the port of the island, Gavrio. It is a northern beach with sand, fine pebbles, and clear blue waters.
Vlychada Beach – What you will find
Basically, the beach is a large bay divided in two by a rock. It is suitable for younger children, but not for babies because it is not organized. The two ends of the bay form a natural shade almost all the time, but it is better to have an umbrella, a deck chair, a sunbed, etc. The beach starts with sand and ends in fine pebbles, which are also in the sea.
If you have fishing equipment, Vlychada beach is suitable for fishing. Its location keeps it crystal clear and free of waves, even if it is windy all over the island. Like other beaches on Andros, is not easily accessible, but once you get there you will definitely be rewarded. You will never encounter too many people, except perhaps during the period of August.
