Villa Pyrgos – An amazing location
Villa Pyrgos is located in Agia Elaiousa, near Palaeopolis. Palaeopolis is a village on the western coast of Andros, situated on one side of Mount Petalos. It is 16 km from Chora and roughly the same distance from Gavrio. It was the first capital of Andros. The village has 135 inhabitants and is at an altitude of 130 meters, just a few steps away from the Old Town (unique in the Cyclades).
The village is historically the ancient capital of Andros. It is where the statue of Hermes was found, which is now displayed in the Archaeological Museum of Andros. The village is divided into Upper Palaeopolis and Lower Palaeopolis. At the highest point of the village are the unique waterfalls of the Cyclades.
