A Love for the summer
Paraporti Beach is located on the right side of Chora the Capital of Andros. It is a long beach with lots of sand and trees that offer shadow. The chapel of Agios Ermolaos is right on the rocks and above this, the heliport of Andros. In Paraporti Beach flows a Great River from Stavropeda which passes through the villages of Aladinou, Livadia and Baxedes. Paraporti Beach is a deep wild sea, often with meltemia (winds) and with tall waves, but it has an amazing view of Chora. The Tourlite with the unobtrusive endless blue make this beach special. The view of Baxedes to Panachrantos monastery is amazing. She does not have canteens, or water but she has a tavern next to the stadium. It has strong wind as well as sun. But that’s how it is the summer. After about 130 steps from the Theoskepasti (Kairi square in Chora) and 100 meters of cement… comes the sand! Next to the high school road. At the Livadia under the plane trees and poplars, next to the river is a narrow road of cement.
