Paraporti Beach in Andros is located to the right of Chora. It is a large beach with a lot of sand and tamarisk trees that offer shade. To the right on the rocks is hooked the church of Agios Ermolaos and above the helipad. At Paraporti flows the Great River that springs from Stavropeda and passes through the villages of Aladinou, Livadia and Baxedes.
Paraporti beach has a deep, wild sea and often with meltemia has high waves. But it has an amazing view of the peninsula of Andros Town. Tourlitis lighthouse and the unobstructed gaze of the endless blue make this beach special. The view of the hinterland from the baxedes to the monastery of Panachrantos is breathtaking. It has a beach bar and a tavern next to the stadium. The wind whips her, and so does the sun. But this is somewhat like summer.
Access to Paraporti beach
On the pedestrian street of Chora, from the stairs of Theoskepasti in Kairi square, and after about 130 steps you step on the sand! Also from the highway next to the Lyceum or from Livadia under the plane trees and the poplars, next to the river is a narrow road of cement.
