Apothikes Beach

Authentic Cycladic landscape with turquoise waters

Apothikes beach in Andros is a fantastic place that looks like it embraces Andros with its crystal clear waters. On the road to Chalkolimionas, below Stavropeda, the dirt road leads to the left to this sandy beach. It is said to be named after the small sheds built by those who took their boats out in winter to protect them.

Apothikes – Authentic Cycladic landscape

A huge deep sandy beach leads to the sea which due to the rocks is ideal for diving and snorkeling. A sea mask is useful as the seabed is pretty interesting. Also, you can find a bar and the dirt road that leads to the beach is relatively good. The mountain above is bare, with toadstools, holly, and a few fig trees.

The water is lovely and deep at half a meter. The water is cool to cold and the bottom for those snorkeling or taking underwater photos is magnificent. The sea has hundreds of fish to observe and generally vibrant life.

Access

Apothikes beach in Andros is worth visiting, especially for those with a jeep or a high car. Those with smaller cars may have a bit of a hassle. The dirt road is relatively accessible and is located on the north side of the island, to the left of Chalcolimionas beach. The drive on the dirt road takes quite a while but is definitely worth the visit. There is also parking for several cars. The crystal clear blue waters and the awesome seabed will make up for it.
